Default WTF, Federal?

Recently, Federal has started printing on the "Champion" line of boxes (on .40, and maybe 9mm too, I forget) "WARNING: Not for use in pistols with ported barrels or ported recoil compensators."

What could POSSIBLY make this particular ammo unsafe to use in a ported barrel, I ask you? Jacket seperating in the barrel and blocking the ports, maybe? I'm at a loss to explain this, aside from maybe they got sued for some silly thing, and this is the result?

Anyone have any ideas? I'm tempted to call Federal and ask...

Wow, this makes no sense, except maybe in terms of some perceived (bogus) liability issue...

Remember that ATK owns Federal (and CCI/Speer/Barnes, amongst others), and ATK has taken a controversial stance on certain issues, such as that whole brewhaha about them trying to screw civilians over by preventing them from having access to once-fired military spent brass.
